CLASSES
Have you ever wanted to try stand up? Are you a fan of storytelling shows like The Moth? We offer courses that establish the fundamentals, expand on them, and culminate in a graduation show! Check out our calendar to see when our next sessions are!
WORKSHOPS
We offer workshops throughout the year that span a wide variety of skills! Workshops are perfect for sampling skills, and expanding existing ones. We also have intensives that offer the deliverables of a longer class on a shorter timeline. Our boot camps are a combo of the two- a menu of options that you can take as a series (often at a discount), or individually!
SHOWS
Tamale is a full-time touring comic and produces shows with fellow comedians from the road! They travel along in a COMVOY, bringing laughs to a city near you. Brass Chuckles produces both in-person and virtual shows, and those ticket links can be found on our calendar!

Testimonials
HI Tamale,
Her class was such a great outlet for me. It was my very first stand up course and I don’t think I could’ve had a better teacher. I’m a very shy person, and I always felt like I could make jokes about the deepest darkest things in my life with open arms! She goes above and beyond to efficiently help her students.
Janessa C.In our time together, she’s been an amazing teacher that has taught me more about Stand-Up and comedy than I could have imagined. She helps me with every question I have and gives me amazing feedback on my work that allows me to bring more to the table.
Jasmine L.I was referred to Tamale, after asking a client of mine, how to get started in stand up comedy. Despite being always labeled as “Funny”, I’ve never thought of myself as a person who could develop a routine and perform! The Name “Tamale Rocks” is an understatement! Within the first session, we worked on joke/set structure and performance habits, that translate to actual shows. Tamale provided references for study and also provided resources for experience where I could constantly receive real life feedback on my new material, to supplement her own. Tamale’s coaching allowed me to go from a person who would not dare “Go in the water” to performing a full 5 minute set and not “drowning” at a local open mic! I encourage anyone who has ever thought about getting in stage to take the same route I did. I can’t thank Tamale enough for not only being a great person but also building that confidence to what is hopefully a start to a successful career in comedy!
Mitchell M.Here are my thoughts about studying with Tamale.
I had come from a negative experience in a previous course. I was terrified of performing, I had lost self-confidence and I was hopeful that Tamale’s class would be different. From the very first class, her joy and love of teaching were apparent. We were given shows to watch, basic comedy techniques and some guidelines for performing but she trusted us to develop our own voices.
Her feedback is constructive, positive, insightful and it is kind. I felt good about performing and I started to feel good about myself. I really love doing stand-up comedy now and – at the end of this month I am taking another comedy class!
I love comedy and took my very first class in standup comedy with Tamale. It was great – I went from no experience to writing and performing three routines in class. Tamale has a really positive energy and brings a kind approach to comedy, which I think is very unique and a great starting place for any comic – it’s harder to be kind and still funny; many comics get laughs at the expense of others. I also appreciated to have a female comic teaching the class. As my intro into standup, couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. Would take another class with Tamale again.
Ioulia K.This is what my friend said (about my set): You did amazing last night!! You can definitely tell your jokes are more crafted and it’s so cool to watch the progression! Love you girl and proud of you!! And for real, I can seriously tell the structure of your jokes is different. I love it. I’m excited for you. It’s going to fucking happen for you. Keep your head down and keep working at it.
Jill V.I’ve seen Tamale perform in a range of disciplines: standup, improv, as a fire-spinner and as an event emcee. She always commands her stage with confidence, charm and professionalism. She’s always a pleasure to watch.
